God is good, all the time!

I said these words on that fateful day, and clung to them for years while trying to overcome the sadness, extreme hurt and feelings of being lost after the death of my husband.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.  In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed You most, You have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have seen only one set of footprints is when I carried you."

I never would have imagined this could happen…..

On February 4, 2006 my life changed forever.  Sounds a bit dramatic, but that is sure how it felt.  My husband was involved in a snowmobiling accident while on a Christian men’s retreat in Canada and passed away almost immediately.  We were many miles apart, with no chance for goodbyes.

The next few days were a blur as my children and I struggled to understand.  I had 3 children to raise, a business to run, and had no idea what to do!  By the grace of God we were surrounded by amazing friends, wonderful church family, and family members willing to travel to be with us.  Our physical needs were more than met, but emotionally I was a wreck.

Over time life demanded that I get back to it, but the luster for life was no longer in me.  I felt like I was walking in a fog, never wanting to get up in the morning and yet never wanting to go to bed at night.  But God never gave up on me.  Through family and friends, I was constantly reminded that God loves me, and He wanted more for me than this sadness.  So my journey to find my joy began.

"For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well."
Psalm 139:13-14

Besides immersing myself into God’s Word and listening to Christian music almost all of the time, I began cleaning up my diet, realizing that so much relies on good gut health.  I tried finding better choices for cleaning supplies and personal care, but when my good friend introduced me to Young Living, that is when I really took off! Because their products contain no hazardous chemicals, over time I switched to using only their cleaning products, personal care products, vitamins and supplements, as well as their essential oils for emotional support and health.  It was a game changer.  I studied about essential oils and truly believe that they are gifts from God for our health and well-being.  The Bible mentions them over and over.  With time my life became fun again, and I found my joy!

So now I want to give you the opportunity to find your joy again! God wants so much more for you, just like He did for me!

"The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; My savior, You save me from violence."
2 Samuel 22:2-3
